It is now possible to correct some cosmetic irregularities of the nose without surgery. Deemed a Liquid Rhinoplasty because of the use of injectable dermal fillers, a liquid rhinoplasty can easily be performed in an office visit.
A Liquid Rhinoplasty Can:
- Improve the symmetry of the nose
- Visually narrow a wide dorsum by adding height to the bridge
- Improve the position of the nasal tip
- Straighten the nose
- Hide a bump
The procedure is not for everyone since it can only be used to fill hollows or depressions or add projection to the dorsum of the nose. It cannot make the nose smaller and does not remove bumps. Restylane Lyft, Juvederm Ultra+, Radiesse, and Bellafill can be used for a Liquid Rhinoplasty. Hyaluronic acid products (Restylane and Juvederm) are preferred because they are easiest to mold and shape, can be completely removed within 24 hours by the injection of another medication (if so desired) and they do not interfere or prevent a future surgical rhinoplasty. Radiesse and Bellafill provide longer-lasting correction than the hyaluronic acid fillers. They cannot be dissolved, so skill and experience are important when choosing your Liquid Rhinoplasty injector.
